Deathwork is Activism Sticker

$5.00

If you are working with death in some way, you are participating in activism. All of the world’s social justice issues; systemic issues found in our healthcare systems, justice systems, religious groups and issues with gender, classism, racism and many other ‘isms…..shows up in death. These things don’t disappear at death. They are there, too. As deathworkers, it’s important that we recognize our roles as activists. When you are supporting an individual through dying and death…..you are advocating for them through all of the systemic issues they may personally feel the impacts of most strongly. And as deathworkers, we have a responsibility to be educated about the communities we serve and the issues they face.

Deathwork is activism and your expression of activism can take many, many forms. And it will probably change throughout your life. No matter what country you are in, or what communities you belong to……ALL deathworkers are activists. This unites us all. The first step is awareness that deathworkers are activists!
