Yew Botanical Illustration Mug • Thanabotany • 11oz

$15.00

SIZE: 11 oz. (The Tall size cup at Starbucks is 12 oz. for comparison’s sake.)

MATERIAL: 100% White Ceramic

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Dishwasher and microwave safe.

ABOUT THE YEW

The yew is an EXCELLENT companion for anyone navigating a cancer journey (breast, lung, ovarian, Kaposi’s syndrome), a loss connected to growth that went haywire, or anyone working towards a place of acceptance.

The Yew tree has long been connected to the underworld and the afterlife. You’ll see these trees planted in churchyards across the US and UK. There is a belief that the yew tree helps the souls of those departed get to where they need to go, and accept that they have died.

In connection with cancer specifically, you might have heard of the drug called Taxol® aka Paclitaxel. This is a natural-source cancer drug in the US and it is derived from the bark of the Pacific yew tree (Taxus brevifolia). You can see where the name of the drug comes from, too. Anyone dealing with breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer or Kaposi’s syndrome might have encountered Taxol and by way of that….the Yew tree. The Yew tree is there to help and support you.
