Chicory Botanical Illustration Mug • Thanabotany • 11oz

$15.00

SIZE: 11 oz. (The Tall size cup at Starbucks is 12 oz. for comparison’s sake.)

MATERIAL: 100 % White Ceramic

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Dishwasher and microwave safe.

ABOUT CHICORY

Chicory is an incredible plant. You are probably driving by it on a regular basis and are assuming it’s a weed. It’s not! It’s an incredibly useful ally.

Chicory has pretty purple flowers, and if you place one near an ant hill, the flowers will turn pink right before your eyes. Chicory is also used to make coffee. If you’ve ever been to New Orleans and had chicory coffee there, then you know! The root is used for a coffee substitute. Chicory can grow and thrive anywhere, it’s just….happy to be here. You’ll see it in ‘waste places’ along highways and in abandoned lots.

This mug was designed in honor of Hairy, a beloved beagle who lived to be 16 years old and two weeks. Hairy was always happy to be there, always happy to be by your side.

If you are grieving the loss of someone that was a companion to you, someone that was always happy to support you wherever you were, then chicory might be meaningful to you. Perhaps you yourself have learned to thrive anywhere!
