Community Hours

Community Hours take place on most Thursdays (except for July, August and December) at 3pm Eastern via Zoom. Running for 1 hour, Community Hours are an informal, inclusive place for students to come and participate in community centered around what we care about. The first Thursday of the month is just a general community connection time. The second Thursday of the month is themed around Deathwork. The third Thursday of the month is centered around Thanabotany™. The fourth Thursday of the month is focused on Thanatology.

Community Hours are led by Cole Imperi and sometimes special guests. The link to join Community Hours is in the school’s Slack group. Students receive an invitation to join our private Slack group in the third week of their courses.

This statement is read at the start of all Community Hours to set the tone:

We come together today to be present to ourselves and others. We are here to sit in community. We do not come to fix, improve or change others. Everyone belongs, everyone is welcome. Please leave your best self at the door, so your true self can enter. If you are new here, please introduce yourself. If you have something you want to share, please speak up. No one has the answer, but everyone has questions.
